Rural Appearance
Selected stone chippings provide a finish that works naturally with rural lanes, estates and country properties.
Professional chip & tar surfacing for private roads, access lanes, estate roads and long rural approaches throughout County Wexford.
Chip & tar is particularly well suited to private roads and lanes where durability, grip and a natural appearance matter. The combination of bituminous binder and selected stone chippings creates a practical textured surface for rural access, estates, shared lanes and longer approaches.
The finished surface is only as good as the groundwork beneath it. We inspect the existing road, soft spots, drainage, falls, edges and traffic requirements before recommending the right preparation and surfacing specification.

For suitable roads and lanes, chip & tar combines a robust bonded surface with the appearance of natural aggregate.
Selected stone chippings provide a finish that works naturally with rural lanes, estates and country properties.
Correct preparation creates a practical surface for cars, vans and normal private-road traffic.
Particularly useful for longer roads and larger areas where both appearance and practical coverage matter.
The exposed aggregate provides a textured finish suited to access roads and changing weather conditions.
Every private road is different. The specification depends on ground conditions, drainage, levels, road edges and the type and frequency of traffic.
We inspect the existing area, identify preparation requirements and establish suitable levels and drainage.
Where required, the base is repaired or prepared and edges are formed to help contain and define the new surface.
Bituminous binder is applied before selected stone chippings are distributed evenly across the prepared surface.
The aggregate is rolled into the binder and the completed area is checked for an even, consistent finish.

We provide quotations throughout Wexford Town and surrounding communities including Enniscorthy, Gorey, New Ross, Rosslare, Bunclody, Courtown, Kilmuckridge, Curracloe, Castlebridge, Ferns, Taghmon and nearby areas.
Tell us the location, approximate length and width, current road condition and the type of traffic using it. We can then discuss preparation and arrange a site quotation where required.
Wexford Office053 925 3194Onsite083 428 0401It can be an excellent option for suitable private roads and lanes. The existing base, drainage, traffic and road condition need to be assessed before the correct specification is recommended.
Often, subject to inspection. Failed areas, potholes, soft spots, drainage problems and unsuitable levels may need repair or preparation before a new surface is applied.
Shared lanes and larger private driveways are common applications. The correct specification still depends on the existing ground and expected vehicle use.
That depends on the road construction and specification. Tell us whether the road is used mainly by cars, vans, agricultural vehicles or heavier traffic so this can be considered during the site assessment.
Cost depends on road length and width, access, base repairs, drainage, preparation and aggregate specification. We provide site-specific quotations rather than a generic square-metre price.
